On the occasion of World Happiness Day, a research was conducted on what makes us happiest in absolute terms, or rather, what is the dish that makes us most joyful. Well, it seems that the most favorite food is pizza, that’s right. One in two Italians prefers leavened food to any other dish. But those who especially love pizza are women with a fairly significant percentage (47%), while 60% are millennials (25-34 years old).
The survey involved a sample of the population aged over 15, and aimed to highlight the relationship between the quantity of food we eat and the satisfaction we derive from it.
If pizza is in first place, pasta is in second place with a preference of 33%, it precedes by a few points (30%) both fish and meat grills, while in fourth place with a preference of 21% we find ice cream and then cheese and cured meats. In last place in the ranking, which is placed on a par with sushi, there is also the sandwich with a preference of 7%.
However, the preference for pizza is not only when it is eaten on the spot, but apparently also the frozen one far surpasses all other foods. It has been found that 6 families out of 10 eat frozen pizza and, the most requested despite the many varieties available on the market, is the margherita.
Nowadays, the consumption of frozen pizzas is equal to 20%, in short, a figure not to be underestimated.
In Italy there are about 42 thousand restaurants and pizzerias and there is no shortage of takeaway places, there are about 21 thousand of them. From a market survey it was also found that every month in our beautiful country 135 million pizzas are baked. But there are those who prefer to prepare pizza at home and there are many who decide to make it in their own home in order to save a few euros.
What is the most popular pizza?
But if Margherita is the most loved and appreciated pizza by consumers, there is no doubt that some want to change, the important thing however, is to use only and exclusively high quality ingredients. Therefore, whether they are good, tasty and appetizing flavors or apparently strange does not matter, the fundamental thing is that they are good. And so here below are some small suggestions for bringing to the table a āstrangeā pizza but with a purely good taste:
- Pizza with friarielli: raise your hand if you have tried a combination like this. Well, it is a truly perfect combination. The friarielli must first be sautƩed with a little oil and chili pepper and then integrated into the white pizza. For those who love strong and decisive flavors, this is an excellent combination;
- Olive and caper pizza: here too we are dealing with a correlation of truly decisive flavours. Taggiasca olives, a handful of capers with a few slices of tomato represent the winning solution for a truly extraordinary flavour;
- Walnut and provola sauce: you can also add a few slices of tomato to give an even more pleasant taste. For those who love to dare, this pizza is really delicious;
- Stuffed pizza: in some pizzerias we find stuffed pizza with salami and ricotta, but you can also customize it to your liking by introducing any ingredient you want, the result will certainly be optimal!
And after listing some strange pizzas that can be made at home, now all that’s left to do is choose the one that’s right for you, or another solution is to add a little creativity to create a custom one! When it comes to pizza, whatever ingredient you add, the result that follows is truly amazing..
Seeing is believing
